Developed by the University of Texas and made available to the public, EpiFire is a C++ applications programming interface (API) that does two things:

1) models the spread of an infectious disease in a population, and

2) generates and manipulates networks of nodes and edges. What EpiFire excels at is simulating the stochastic spread of disease on contact networks. (see www.epifire.com). This tool is available in executable code for Windows and OS X on http://sourceforge.net/projects/epifire/ The tool is also available as source code at https://github.com/tjhladish/EpiFire
